Singapore’s retail sales increased in October after declining notably in the previous month, data from the Department of Statistics showed Tuesday.

Retail sales rose a seasonally adjusted 1.5 percent month-over-month in October, reversing a 4.2 percent fall in September.

Retail sales of motor vehicles alone grew by 14.0 percent annually in October and sales of medical goods and toiletries rose by 3.5 percent.

Excluding motor vehicles, retail sales registered a decline of 1.0 percent versus a 0.3 percent drop in September.

On an annual basis, retail sales edged down 0.1 percent in October, after a 0.6 percent decrease in the preceding month.
