Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet

I’m wondering if anyone has noticed burn-in on the screen of their Trezor? I recently changed the background of my Trezor and noticed that the original padlock logo (default background screen) was burnt into the display. I was surprised when I saw that…

BTC for investors – pricing perspectives requested.

Hi – May be I have asked this question on this sub in the past, but can the investors (pure investors – not devs, and not doomday hedgers) here describe their process to determine the price of this “asset class”.

Given the complete lack of

  1. “fundamental value”
  2. lack of history (a la gold)
  3. relatively poor price-volume data
  4. evolving regulatory and commercial acceptance

what do you rely upon to determine what is the right time to buy (or buy more). As an example – given where BTC is right now – what do you think is a fair price today, what is a steal price?

This is obviously assuming that you are long on the thesis, first and foremost. If you have thought about it a lot and given up, would be good to understand your reasons.

While all are welcome to comment, I would especially love to hear from those with more than 10 BTC or professional investors in their day jobs to opine.

Thanks much!

Thank you Bitcoin Core

I want to say thanks to Bitcoin Core for fighting hard against the Bitcoin hard fork in the last year. It was hard to make arguments when Gavin and Mike Hearn’s hard fork was so popular, but hopefully those guys who don’t see Bitcoin as a long term stable store of value went to play with Ethereum. Segwit is an awesome change, and I think it just shows how many more things can be done with soft-forks in the future (even though soft-forks have their own risks as well, they are still smaller).

I’m not against what Ethereum is trying to achieve: I’d love Bitcoin to be more programmable, like Ethereum as fast as possible, but not if we have to pay the price in security or fungibility of Bitcoin (which still needs lots of improvements, but I also know that the Core team is working hard on it)

Can you help me update my list?

I like to keep current with bitcoin reddit and like most of us wish this forum could be free of trolls. Here’s my list of posts that I currently try to ignore. Can you help update it for me:

  • The trolls were/are pushing for a block size increase
  • The trolls were saying that the halving will fail
  • The trolls are saying Blockstream are the devil
  • The trolls are saying Core are the devil
  • The trolls are saying the hard fork is being delayed.
  • The trolls are saying we are going against Satoshi’s vision
