As such, it comes as no surprise that the fund has a longer weighted average maturity, duration, and higher yields. The fund is also more sensitive to changes in interest rates. Its elevated duration might not appeal to investors looking to shorten their duration exposure, or who are looking to reduce interest rate risk. The fund uses a sampling technique to track its index, in which it holds a range of securities that has the same return and risk characteristics of the underlying index.
