Bank of Cyprus Holdings Plc engages in the provision of banking, financial services, insurance services and management, and disposal of property. It operates through the following segments: Corporate, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Retail, Restricting and Recoveries, International Banking Services, Wealth Management, Real Estate Management Unit (REMU), Treasury, Insurance, And Others. The Corporate, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Retail segments are managing loans and advances to customers. The Restructuring and Recoveries segment is the specialized unit which is a set up to tackle the group's loan portfolio quality and manages exposures to borrowers in distress situation through innovative solutions. The International Banking Services segment specializes in the offering of banking services to the international corporate and non-resident individuals, particularly international business companies whose ownership and business activities lie outside Cyprus. The Wealth Management segment oversees the provision of institutional wealth private banking, global markets, brokerage, asset management, investment banking and depository services. The REMU segment manages properties acquired through debt-for-property swaps and properties acquired through the acquisition of certain operations of Laiki Bank in 2013, and executes exit strategies in order to monetize these assets. The Treasury segment is responsible for liquidity management and for overseeing operations to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory liquidity policies and provide direction as to the actions to be taken regarding liquidity availability. The Insurance segment is involved in both life and general insurance business. The Others segment includes head office functions such as finance, risk management, compliance, legal, corporate affairs and human resources. The company was founded on July 11, 2016 and is headquartered in Nicosia, Cyprus.
