On Wall Street yesterday the tech heavy Nasdaq lost 0.24%, the Dow Jones ended up 0.16% and the S&P finished 0.15% higher. The United States is on public holiday today observing Veterans Day. The UK 100 is currently up by 0.73%, with news coming in that unemployment in the UK has fallen to 1.75 million, with 103,000 more people now in work.

Dollar Yen is currently around 123.165 and is up on the day by approximately 0.06%. EUR/USD is fairly flat on the day, trading in the region of 1.07350, moving away from the 6.5 month low of 1.0673 hit yesterday.

Overnight in Asian markets Japanese shares remained steady after the Chinese industrial production figures proved to be fairly lacklustre. The Shanghai Composite Index was up 0.27% whilst the Hang Seng index was down by 0.41%.

Oil is again being pushed further down by the strong US Dollar. West Texas Intermediate crude is at $43.75 per barrel, down on the day by 46 cents. Brent Crude is trading around $47.22 barrel, down by 22 cents.
