May 1, 2014 – Stock Market News
Today’s Hot Asset – Exxon Mobil
Stocks in Asia traded mixed during the early session today. Trading was thin throughout the session due to the holidays. However, there were still plenty of trading opportunities, as investors digested the news that the U.S. decided to taper for a fourth consecutive meeting yesterday combined with the upbeat Chinese manufacturing data later in the session today.
Stocks in the U.S. look set to open the day trading slightly higher. Investors in the U.S. will still be reacting to yesterdays Fed meeting at the start of today’s session, which is the main reason behind the predicted positive movement. Investors will also be looking ahead to the release of numerous regional economic data releases as the session progresses. This should create plenty of great trading opportunities for binary options traders.
Stocks in Europe are still currently trading higher as we head into the second half of the days session. Trading in Europe has also been reasonably thin, as the majority of markets are closed for the May 1st public holiday. Stocks in the UK have performed best of the markets that are open today with the regional index edging up by 0.23% so far today.
Today’s hot asset is, Exxon Mobil. Exxon Mobil are due to release their company earnings figure today and with such speculation regarding the oil market at the moment it will certainly be very interesting to see the result. Most investors will also be awaiting the result and this is sure to create some great short term positions on this asset throughout the day.
