Disappointment over Microsoft prospects had stocks easing downward, finally closing 0.36% lower than they opened. This disappointment stems from a lack of confidence over Microsoft’s new products and the gradual discontinuation of Internet Explorer.  This is the second Microsoft product within a year to already have plans for its discontinuation as it follows Clip Art.  However, after yesterday’s slide, Microsoft earnings were posted at 0.75, beating expectations of 0.69 by a wide margin.  Despite this news, Microsoft is down 7.4% in the Futures market, though this could easily reverse when markets open later today.
