European markets have opened in positive territory today, tracking overnight gains on Wall Street, as weak US GDP data eased concerns over an early interest rate hike in the country.

Closer home, investors will keep a close eye on the Bank of England’s financial stability report and Governor Mark Carney’s speech due later today. Additionally, the GfK consumer confidence index for the UK along with US weekly jobless claims and personal income and spending data will attract market attention.
