European markets have opened higher today, helped by a rally in the Asian markets as investors grew more optimistic about a likelihood that the Fed monetary measures would be persisted with, ahead of the Federal Reserve’s two-day policy meeting due tomorrow.

Closer home, investors await the release of CBI’s distributive trades’ survey data, due later in the day. Earlier, Hometrack reported that the UK housing prices increased 0.5% MoM in October, same as a revised 0.5% increase in the previous month.
