European markets have opened mostly flat today, following the previous session’s sharp gains. Investors are set to pay a close attention to the meeting of senior diplomats from the European Union (EU), the US, Ukraine and Russia in Geneva due later today.

With no release of major domestic economic data during the day, market participants will keep an eye on US weekly jobless claims and Philadelphia-area manufacturing activity data to get further market direction.
