European markets have opened mixed today, ahead of a number of speeches from US Federal Reserve officials and after data indicated a slowdown in China’s non-manufacturing sector growth.
Closer home, the Nationwide Building Society reported that housing prices in the UK increased 1.4% MoM in December, compared to a revised 0.7% rise in the previous month. Later, investors would keep a close eye on UK construction PMI, mortgage approvals and M-4 money supply data to gauge the strength in the nation’s economy.
