European markets have opened higher today, mirroring gains on Wall Street and in Asian markets, after US economic data pointed to a slowly improving labour market.

With no release of major domestic economic data during the day, investors are expected to pay close attention to Germany’s Ifo business climate index data and the speech by ECB President Mario Draghi at European Banking Congress in Frankfurt. Earlier, data showed that Germany’s GDP grew 0.3% QoQ in the third quarter of 2013, in line with the preliminary estimate and compared to a 0.7% expansion in the second quarter.”
