European markets have opened higher today, ahead of the outcome of monetary policy meetings of the Bank of England (BoE) and the European Central Bank (ECB) due later in the day. Both central banks are set to leave their monetary policy intact.

With no major domestic economic data during the day, investors would keep a close eye on German factory orders and US trade balance and initial jobless claims data to gauge market trend.
