European markets have opened firmer today, reversing some of previous session losses and mirroring gains in Asian equity markets, after a sharp rebound in oil prices late yesterday.

Closer home, data from the RICS indicated that UK house prices rose at their slowest annual pace since May 2013 in December. Later today, traders will eye Eurozone trade balance, German economic growth data along with reports on weekly jobless claims, producer prices, regional manufacturing activity in the US for further direction.
