European markets have opened higher today, after the minutes of the US Federal Reserve’s latest policy meeting eased worries about an early interest rate hike in the US.

Closer home, investors will keep an eye on the Bank of England’s monetary policy meeting due later today. Earlier, data from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors showed that the house price balance in the UK increased to a reading of 57.0 in March from a revised reading of 47.0 posted in the previous month.
