European markets have opened in the red today, extending their yesterday’s steep losses, as investors remain cautious ahead of the weekend referendum in Crimea on joining Russia.

Closer home, investors will keep a close eye on trade balance and the Conference Board’s leading economic indicator data due later in the day. Meanwhile, Eurozone employment change and construction output along with US consumer sentiment data would attract market attention.
