European markets have opened mostly lower today, ahead of the US Federal Reserve Bank chief, Janet Yellen’s semi-annual testimony before the US Senate committee due later today.

Closer home, traders await UK’s consumer prices data due later today which is expected to show that inflation ticked up marginally in June. Additionally, market participants will keep a tab on the ZEW economic survey data for Germany and the Eurozone.
