There was a mixed session overnight, with Asian stocks giving back most of their gains due to a slump in Chinese Shares despite positive trade data, whilst US stocks continued their upward rally for a fourth straight session as oil prices rebounded, helping to lift the energy sector.  The Dow continued its longest winning streak since January , gaining 75 points to close at 18,053, the S&P500 rose 9 points to finish at 2,108.

The Euro fell slightly to trade around the $1.1000 level and was buying 135.83 Yen, ticking up slightly on the day.  The Greenback climbed against the Yen, trading around the 135.83 level. U.S. crude was up about 0.4 percent at $53.27 a barrel, while Brent added 0.3 percent to $58.68.

Within the equity space we are seeing more potential M&A activity with the Daily Mail stock market report citing that United Technologies or Honeywell could be bidding for Meggitt, the British based FTSE-listed aircrafts parts manufacturer.  Meggitt stock is up 1.5% in early trade at 495p per share
