European markets have opened lower today, as a weekend meeting between US Democrats and Republicans concluded with no agreement on budget crisis and debt ceiling. Further, investors awaited Eurozone Finance Ministers’ meeting scheduled later in the day, to get any clue on the market movement.

With no release of major domestic economic data during the day, investors eyed Eurozone industrial production data, slated today.
