European markets have opened mostly in positive territory today. However, gains were capped, amid increased concerns over Greek debt problems, rising tensions in Ukraine and following disappointing Chinese economic data.

Closer home, data from the BRC indicated that retail sales in the UK rose less than expected last month. Later today, traders will keep a tab on UK industrial production and NIESR GDP estimate data for further direction.
