With the news that Anglo American may make an offer for Sirius Minerals the stock of the AIM-listed miner rose more than 30% out of the gate this morning, matching the offer price of 5.5p per share. Sirius, which owns the UK’s biggest mine development site, the Woodsmith polyhalite potash project in the North Yorkshire Moors, has been beset by funding issues and the potential deal with Anglo would enable the mine to go ahead to move it to production.
