The US dollar outstretched its losses versus the Japanese yen Wednesday following the Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda discussed policy following the central bank stood pat on monetary policy earlier.

According to Kuroda, there was no need to change outlooks that inflation projections were escalating in the medium-term to long-term following the BOJ reduced forecast for next fiscal year despite declining oil prices.

But the Japanese central bank chose not to expand its monetary stimulus.

The greenback dropped as low as ¥117.295. It last traded at ¥117.43, down 1.2%.
