Oil prices escalated as a slide in US production led to more risk appetite in the market.

Brent crude for May delivery traded at $37.02 per barrel, up 9 cents. Light, sweet crude futures for April delivery ended at $34.84 per barrel, up 13 cents. ICE gasoil for March closed at $328.00 per metric ton, down $3.50.

On Wednesday, the Energy Information Administration reported the total stockpiles in the United States was at 518 million barrels in the week through February 29, up 10.4 million barrels.
