The New Zealand dollar weakened against the US dollar Tuesday, as market sentiment was still pressured despite escalating tensions in Ukraine and violence in the Middle East.
The kiwi touched 0.8673 US cents during late Asian trade, the lowest since July 18.
Markets were nervous on rising upheaval between Russia and the West after the downing of Malaysian plane in eastern Ukraine last week and Israel’s ground offensive in Gaza.
Against the Australian dollar, the currency was at 1.0821.
