Japanese stocks bolster at the opening of trading Friday, lifted after U.S. stocks recorded an increase on upbeat corporate profits and deal developments. The Nikkei Stock Average rallied 0.8% to 14,644.42, and the broader Topix edged 0.7% higher to 1,207.46, with the local equity market also helped by slight recovery in the U.S. dollar versus the yen following soft U.S. economic data. In Tokyo trading, telecom shares made solid moves greater, with KDDI Corp. jumped 3.1%, Sprint Corp. parent Softbank Corp. tacking on 2.3%, and NTT DoCoMo Inc. boosting 1.6%.
