The euro edged lower Monday as the US dollar firmed, while concerns over geopolitical upheavals alleviated, boosting market sentiment.

Against the greenback, the euro eased 0.12% to 1.3394, down from Friday’s 1.3431. The currency tumbled 0.08% to ¥136.72, up from Friday’s ¥135.71.

Last week, the US authorized launching air strikes in Iraq, pressing investors to generate profits in the dollar.

Market sentiment recouped after reports Russia concluded its military exercises it conducted near the border with Ukraine.
