Asian markets inched down despite the escalating tension between Turkey and Russia over the former’s act downing the Russian jet.
Turkey shot down Russia’s warplane as the latter allegedly breached Turkish airspace. As a result, Russia’s defense ministry suspends military cooperation with Turkey.
Japan’s Nikkei index ended at 19,847.58, down 0.39%. Shares in Japanese exporters declined as the yen soared versus the US dollar. South Korea’s Kospi closed at 2,009.42, down 0.34%.
Also, China’s Shanghai Composite Index settled at 3,642.80, up 0.74%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index was at 22,576.24, down 0.05%.
