Supermarket chain Asda’s sales plummeted by 5.1% in 12 weeks to April 24. Asda, Wal-Mart’s British supermarket chain, was the worst performer of all 4 biggest chains, Kantar Worldpanel said.
Market leader Tesco saw its sales fall 1.3%, snapping 4 months of progress, Kantar said. It added that Morrisons and Sainsbury’s also fell 2.6% and 0.4%, respectively.
