It’s time for the Dukascopy Economic Calendar, where we take a look at the potential market movers scheduled for publication on Thursday the 4th of October. We start in the US in this calendar with Jobless claims for September at 12-30 PM GMT. The previous report showed an unexpected rise at 214 thousand and forecast show this might stay the same. Then we have US factory orders for August, which comes at 2PM. Orders shrank by more than expected in July, ending three consecutives months of growth. We move to Canada at the same time for Canadian Ivey PMI for September. Last months reading of 61.9 surpassed estimates of 61.4. The penultimate item in this calendar is Japanese household spending for August and this arrives at 11-30PM. July saw a modest rebound of 0.1%, the first rise in 6 months, alongside a rebound in wages it was good news for Japan. Finally we head down under at 1-30AM for Australian retail sales report for August. Last months report was disappointing and the RBA will be hoping for an uptick this time around.
