Orders surprised on upside in October with a rise of point 3 percent, which was the third consecutive monthly increase in a row. The Euro Zone Retail Sales figures for November are up next at 10 AM. Sales have seen volatile performance in recent months and they were up by point 3 percent in October, to partially wipe out September’s drop of a half a percent. Then it’s busy with North American publications at 3 PM GMT and the high importance US ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI for December is one of them. The index edged further up in November, gaining point 4 percent to stand well above the 50 mark at 60.7. The US Factory Orders report or November will also be available at this time. Orders plummeted by 2.1 percent in October, which was the largest decline since mid-2017. The publication of the Canadian Ivey PMI for December wraps up the 3 PM GMT data run. The index dropped below the 60 level in November, but it remains well above the 50 mark, indicating industry expansion. The Australian Trade Balance report for November is up next at a half past midnight. The previous trade report disappointed as the surplus narrowed down from nearly 3 billion in the green to 2.32 billion Australian Dollars. And wrapping up this agenda is the Japanese Consumer Confidence index for December at an early 5 AM. The confidence indicator has been trending South through most of the year 2018 to hit the low of 42.9 in November, which is the lowest level since late 2016.
