The seasonally adjusted measure of unemployment rate dropped to a multi year low of 2.4 percent in November. The European Central Bank will publish their December Governing council Meeting Accounts at a half past noon. The weekly US Jobless claims release will then be available at 1:30 PM GMT. Initial claims continued trending higher during the week that ending December 29th as they climbed by 10 thousand to 231 thousand. The Canadian Building Permits and Housing Starts data for November will be published at the same time. The New house price index was unchanged in October, while building permits slipped by point two percent. Greenback traders will be monitoring closely a high importance speech by the Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell in Washington at 5 PM. Next up is the publication of the New Zealand Building Consents stats for November. The seasonally adjusted number of new dwellings consented rose by 1.5 percent in October, following a 1.3 percent fall in September. A couple of November reports regarding Japanese economy are up next at ten to midnight, including Household Spending stats. Spending remained in the negative territory in October, but the pace of decline slowed down significantly. The Current Account report is the other item out at this time. Surplus narrowed down sharply in October to just slightly more than 1.3 trillion Japanese Yen. This compares with nearly 2.2 trillion a year ago.
