We are heading towards weekend, but don’t let that be a reason to take the pressure off your broker. Euro/Dollar’s long term average spread is point 33 pips and daily peak separation has been 2.7 pips. Euro has had a bullish run over the past 24 hours, gaining almost 1% or 108 pips to rise above the 1 17 level. US Jobless claims and CPI both were out yesterday at a half past noon GMT and that’s the time of the peak daily spread, but 2.7 pips is the most you should have been charged. Next up is the Cable, which has long term average and maximum spreads of point 77 and 10.7 pips respectively. Pound/Dollar has been on a rise over the past 24 hours and the pair has gained point 81% or 105 pips. US data run bumped the spreads for this pair yesterday as well, but make sure your broker hasn’t used this as an excuse to charge you more than 10.7 pips. And last up is the Dollar/Yen, which has a daily average spread of point 36 pips. Max separation has been 2.7 pips. The pair moved above the 112 level as it appreciated by point 64% or 71 pips.
