The publication of the UK Nationwide House Price Index for December opens this agenda at 7 o’clock in the morning. Prices were up by point three percent in November to stand 1.9 percent up from a year ago level. Euro Zone December Services PMI run then starts at a quarter to 9 in the morning with Italian figures. The final French stats will then be available five minutes later, followed by the final German data at 8:55. German unemployment report for December will be available at the same time. The whole bloc’s finalized Services PMI will then be published at 9 o’clock. The preliminary publication showed a sharp decline, but the index remained above the key 50-level. There are a couple of releases regarding the UK economy at 9:30 in the morning – Lending to Individuals figures for November will be available along with the December publication of the Services PMI. The Flash Euro Zone Consumer Price Index release for December is up next at 10 AM. According to the final release, annual inflation eased back to 1.9 percent in November and price pressure is expected to continue easing back. The Euro Zone Producer Price Index for November is out at the same time. Prices have increased for six consecutive months, but a contraction is expected this time around. Then the day’s key North American employment reports for December will be out at 1:30 PM GMT, including the US data. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 155 thousand in November, and the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.7 percent. Canadian labour force survey is the other high importance publication scheduled at this time. Employment jumped by 94 thousand in November to drive the unemployment rate down by point 2 percentage points to the lowest level since comparable data became available more than 40 years ago. A potential Greenback mover wraps up the agenda at 3:15 PM GMT. The US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will speak at the American Economic Association meeting in Atlanta alongside with Bernanke and Yellen.
