It’s time for another edition of the Dukascopy Spike Controller, where we take a closer look at the spread levels for the 3 non-cross majors.
Euro/Dollar’s daily average spread is point 32 pips and maximum separation has been 1.1 pips.
The pair has been on a sharp decline, dropping by almost 1% or 103 pips to hit the daily low of 1 1316.
Spreads have been relatively calm for this pair, peaking at 1.1 pips yesterday shortly after 4 PM GMT.
Next up is the Cable, which has long term average of point 96 pips. Both of the sides were 3.4 pips apart during the past 4 hours.
Pound/Dollar has depreciated by a total of point 79% or 101 pips to drop to the low of 1 2691.
Spreads were slightly bumpy today at 8:30 AM as the UK data was released, but you shouldn’t have seen a separation bigger than 3.4 pips.
And last up is the Dollar/Yen, which has long term average and maximum spreads of point 45 and point 9 pips respectively.
Past 24 hours have been Greenback bullish and the pair has appreciated by point 61% or 68 pips.
No major separations have been recorded here for this pair as the peak separation is just point 9 pips.
I’m Jack Everitt and that concludes the Spike Controller for Wednesday.
