The committee voted unanimously to maintain the bank rate at point 75 percent in November. A couple of reports regarding the US economy will then be available at 1:30 PM GMT, including the weekly jobless claims. Initial claims dropped by 27 thousand during the week ending December 8th to stand near a multi decade low at 206 thousand. The Philly Fed Survey for December is the other item out at this time. According to the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, the diffusion index for current general activity decreased from 22.2 in October to 12.9 in November. The US Leading Indicator for November is up next at 3 PM GMT. The Conference Board Leading Economic Index increased by one tenth of a percent in October to 112.1. This follows a point 6 percent increase in September. Japanese National CPI for November will be available at 11:30 PM. The pace of the annual core inflation was unchanged at one percent in October. The UK Consumer Confidence report for December wraps up this agenda shortly after midnight. The index moved further into the red in November to stand at minus 13.
