Index slipped by one tenth of a point in August after staying level in July. Second Estimate of the June Quarter US GDP follows at a half past noon GMT and it’s a potential Greenback mover. Advance estimate showed economy expanding at an annual rate of 4.1% in the second quarter. Canadian Current Account stats for the June quarter will be available at the same time. Current account deficit increased by 3 billion Canadian Dollars during the year’s opening quarter. US Pending Home Sales for July continue the data run at 2 PM. Sales jumped by point 9% in June, wiping out May’s decline of a half a percent. Preliminary Japanese Retail Sales for July follow at ten to midnight. Annual growth of sales jumped to a downwardly revised 1.7% in June from May’s level of point 6%. New Zealand ANZ Business Outlook for August continues the data run at 1 o’clock in the morning. Survey for July painted an unhappy picture. Headline business confidence dropped to a net 45% of respondents reporting they expect general business conditions to deteriorate in the year ahead. A couple of Ozzy reports wrap up this calendar at 1:30 in the morning, including the second quarter Capital Expenditure. The seasonally adjusted estimate rose by point 4% in the year’s opening quarter, which was just half of what the markets had anticipated. Building approvals figures for July is the other and the final report. The seasonally adjusted estimate for total dwellings approved rose 6.4% in June and this followed two months in the red.
