The Finalized German Consumer Price Index for November opens this agenda at 7 o’clock in the morning. According to the preliminary report, prices grew by one tenth of a percent month on month to stand 2.3 percent up from a year ago level. The Swiss National Bank quarterly monetary policy assessment for December follows at 8:30 in the morning. This assessment results in an interest rate decision and publication of a medium-term conditional inflation forecast. This time the assessment will be followed by a press conference at 9 o’clock. The European Central Bank continues the monetary policy announcement run at a quarter to 1 PM GMT and this could shake up the Euro pairs. The press conference is scheduled at 1:30 PM. A couple of North American releases then follow at 1:30 PM, including the US Jobless Claims. Initial claims slipped by 4 thousand during the week ending December the first, after jumping to 235 thousand in the week before that. Canadian New Housing Price Index for October will be available at the same time. New house prices were unchanged in September for a second consecutive month, despite increases in some pockets across the country. New Zealand Manufacturing PMI for November continues the data run at 9:30 PM. The Index increased in October by 1.6 points to 53.5. The Fourth Quarter Japanese Tankan Survey is up next at ten to midnight. Both the manufacturing and non-manufacturing indexes declined in the third quarter and the downward trend is expected to continue this time around as well. A total of three publications regarding Chinese economy for November wrap up this busy agenda.
