Then the high importance quarterly SNB Monetary Policy Assessment for September follows at 7:30 AM. The central bank maintained its expansionary monetary policy in June, thereby stabilizing price developments and supporting economic activity. UK Retail Sales report for August could bump the Sterling at 8:30 in the morning. A stronger than expected growth reading of point 7% was reported for July as the good weather encouraged retailers to go shopping. US data run starts at a half past noon GMT with a couple of releases, including Jobless Claims. Initial claims were almost unchanged during the week ending September the 8th as they were down by one thousand. Philly Fed Survey for September is the other item out at this time. The diffusion index for current general activity decreased by 14 points in August to 11.9, which is lowest reading in 21 months. US Existing home sales and Leading indicator statistics for August will both be available at 2 PM GMT. Flash Euro Zone Consumer Confidence data for September is released at the same time as well. A couple of Japanese reports wrap up this agenda, including Consumer Price Index for August at 11:30 PM. National Core inflation was unchanged at point 8% in July, but it’s expected to accelerate slightly this time around. Flash Manufacturing PMI for September is the other and the final publication scheduled at a half past midnight. The index edged up by point 2% in August to remain above the 50 mark, indicating expansion of the manufacturing sector.
