A new trading week is under way, so let’s take a look at the potential FX market movers scheduled for publication on Monday, February 4th. Chinese markets will be closed throughout the week due to holidays, so Asian trading could be lighter than usual. The UK Construction PMI for January opens this agenda at 9:30 in the morning. The index slipped to a three month low of 52.8 in December. Weaker demand and unusually wet weather were the main contributors for the decline. Euro Zone Producer Price Index for December is up next at 10 AM. Producer prices declined by point 3 percent in November and this was the first decline since mid-2017. The release of the US Factory Orders for November continues the data run at 3 PM GMT. Orders plummeted by 2.1 percent month on month in October, which was the largest decline in more than a year. The UK Retail Sales Monitor for January will be available shortly after midnight. The annual index has been in the negative territory for two consecutive months and decline accelerated in December from a half a percent in the red in November. There might be some interesting Australian Dollar trades after midnight. Two December publications will be out at 12:30 AM and this includes the high importance Retail Trade stats. Sales surprised on the upside in November with a jump of point 4 percent. Trade Balance for December is the other publication out at this time. Surplus narrowed down for the second month in a row in November as it slipped below the two billion Australian Dollar level. And last up is the high importance Reserve Bank of Australia Rate Statement at 3:30 in the morning.
