First of September is a market holiday in both the US and Canada, but it’s the PMI day on the other side of the Atlantic, so let’s take a closer look.
Swiss retail sales stats for July open this agenda at a quarter past 7 in the morning. Sales were just point 3% up from a year ago in June, slowing down by one tenth of a percent from May’s level.
Then the August Manufacturing PMI run starts at 7:30 when Swiss figures are out. Italian data will be available 15 minutes later. Final French stats will be released at 7:50, followed by final German data at 7:55 and the whole bloc’s statistics at 8 o’clock.
UK report wraps up the Manufacturing PMI data run at 8:30 in the morning.
UK BRC KPMG Retail Sales Monitor for August is up next just shortly after 11 PM. Sales growth slowed down in July from June’s level of 1.1%.
A couple of Australian releases wrap up this agenda, including Current Account stats for the second quarter at 1:30 in the morning. Deficit narrowed down in the year’s opening quarter to 10 and a half billion Australian dollars.
The high importance Reserve Bank of Australia monetary policy statement is the other and the final report for this calendar at 4:30 in the morning.
