This week’s final trading day brings us the high importance North American employment update for August, so let’s take a closer look. It’s an early start at 5:45, when Swiss unemployment rate for August will be published. The seasonally adjusted measure was unchanged at 2.6% in July, which is the lowest level in almost a decade. A couple of German publications for July follow at 6 AM, including trade stats. Surplus narrowed down by slightly more than 1 billion Euros in June, when seasonally adjusted. Industrial production is the other release out at this time. Production slowed down by point 9% in June after jumping by 2.4% in May. UK Halifax House Price Index for August is up next at 7:30 AM. Prices were up by 1.4% in July and this was the third consecutive monthly increase. The high importance Bank of England Quarterly Inflation Attitudes Survey for August will be available at 8:30 in the morning. Median expectations of the rate of inflation over the coming year were 2.9%, in May, remaining the same as in February. Revised statistics of the second quarter Euro Zone GDP are then published at 9 o’clock. Preliminary report indicated economy grew at a pace of point 4%, matching the first quarter’s increase. Then the day’s key releases for August follow at a half past noon GMT and this includes US Employment report. Total non-farm employment increased by 157 thousand in July to drive the unemployment rate South of the 4% mark. Canadian Labour Force Survey is the other high importance release out at this time. Employment rose by 54 thousand in July, driven by gains in part-time work. The unemployment rate declined by point 2% to 5.8%. Canadian Ivey PMI for August wraps up this calendar at 2 PM.
