BoE Carney may be questioned on Brexit risks • BoE Governor will testify to parliament on monetary policy and the outlook of the UK economy. • Lawmakers are likely to question him about the risks of the EU referendum. • GBP’s reaction will be highly depended on the tone of the comments.
Today: • Germany: Ifo survey for Feb. Both figures are exp. to decline. This could prove EUR-negative. Also, final GDP for Q4 is exp. to remain unchanged. • US: CB consumer confidence for Feb. is exp. to decline. Existing home sales for Jan. are exp. to decrease. Also, S&P/Case-Shiller housing index for Dec. Overall, these could prove USD-negative. • Speakers: Besides BoE Gov. Carney, Fed Vice-Chair Stanley Fischer, Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari, SNB Gov. Thomas Jordan and Riksbank Gov. Stefan Ingves speak.
