A couple of Euro Zone reports open this agenda at 10 o’clock in the morning, including the final Consumer Price Index for November. According to the flash estimate, annual inflation is expected to slow down from 2.2 percent in October to 2 percent in November. Euro Zone Trade Balance for October will be available at the same time. The seasonally adjusted surplus declined to 13.4 billion Euros in September from August’s level of 16.8 billion. The UK CBI Industrial Trends Survey for December is up next at 11 AM. The Confederation for British Industry reported the survey balance jumping to plus 10 in November. The survey balance was in the red in both this year’s September and October. The US Empire State Survey for December continues the data run at 1:30 PM GMT. The headline general business conditions index edged up two points to 23.3 in November. According to the New York Fed survey, business activity continued to grow at a solid clip in New York State. The US NAHB Housing Market Index for December will be released at 3 o’clock. The index plummeted by 8 points to 60 in November, which is the lowest level in more than two years. The publication of the US Treasury International Capital Data for October wraps up the US data run at 9 PM. Taking into account transactions in both foreign and U.S. securities, net foreign purchases of long-term securities were nearly 31 billion US Dollars in September. The New Zealand ANZ Business Outlook release for December is scheduled at midnight. In the November Survey headline business confidence was unchanged with a net 37 percent of respondents reporting they expect general business conditions to deteriorate in the year ahead. The Reserve Bank of Australia December Monetary Policy Meeting Minutes wrap up this agenda at a half past midnight. The Cash rate has stood unchanged at 1 and a half percent since mid-2016.
