Welcome to “Beat the Broker”! For one week only I’m giving ETX clients the opportunity to go head to head against me in the Beat the Broker trading competition. I’ll be posting a blog and video diary of my trades each day as well as a leader board of the top traders so you can check where you rank. It should be an interesting week for all of us…
The week ahead promises to be a busy one, the light trading volumes we have seen for the last few weeks should allow some good trading opportunities. I will be kicking off Beat the Broker mainly focusing on Forex, Indices and Commodities, but I may dabble in a few interesting single stock names as well.
We’ve had a positive start with China Manufacturing PMI coming out stronger than expected (50.8 vs 49.7). Asian markets rallied but have subsequently sold off. For Forex I will be looking for any clues about timing of interest rate moves. The market may look at pushing the ECB into some further action with some decent support at 1.35 on EURUSD.
Good luck all and let’s see where we are when the markets close.
Joe Rundle
