European markets have opened lower this morning, as investors preferred to wait on sidelines ahead of the release of the US GDP data for the first quarter, slated to be released later during the day. Stocks also came under pressure as the Bank of Japan refrained from fresh easing measures. Meanwhile, at a debt auction today, Italy aims to raise €8 billion through the sale of 6-month BOTs, short-term bills, maturing on 31 October, 2013.
