European markets have opened marginally higher. In a noteworthy development, the preliminary results from Crimea’s referendum held over the weekend indicated that over 96% voters expressed their willingness to leave Ukraine and join Russia. Closer home, Rightmove indicated that house prices in the UK increased 1.6% MoM in March, slower than the 3.3% rise reported in the previous month. Later today, markets will eye developments in Ukraine and US industrial production data for further cues.
