According to preliminary report, economy stalled in the final quarter of last year. This follows a slight decline in the September stanza, which was the first quarterly contraction since 2015. German IFO Business Climate for February will then be published at 9 AM. The slow-down of economic growth reflects on weaker business climate and it dropped to 99.1 in January, which is the lowest level since early 2016. The final Euro Zone CPI for January is up next at 10 AM. According to the flash estimate, inflation continued slowing down in December, moving further below the key two percent level. Canadian Retail Sales stats for December then could potentially shake up the Loonie Dollar at 1:30 PM GMT. The overall sales plummeted by nearly one percent in November on lower sales at gasoline stations and motor vehicle and parts dealers. Excluding these two sub-sectors, retail sales were slightly up. The European Central Bank President Mario Draghi will speak in Bologna, Italy at 3:30 PM GMT and this could be a potential single currency mover. There will also be a number of speeches by the Fed officials and these include an appearance by Richard Clarida on Fed tools and communications at 5 PM. James Bullard will speak on balance sheet at 6:30 PM. Randal Quarles will speak on future of the Fed Balance Sheet at the same time and John Williams will give closing remarks at Fed event at 10:30 PM.
