Calendar for Friday: The US Non-Farm Payrolls and Services PMIs

A batch of Services PMIs and US employment report are out on this week’s final trading day, so let’s take a closer look. Swiss Consumer Price Index for July sets off the data run at a quarter past 7 in the morning. Monthly prices were unchanged in June, but they were 1.1% up from a year ago level. Then the July Services PMI run starts with Italian figures at 7:45 AM. Final French statistics will be available five minutes later, final German data at 7:55 and then the whole bloc’s figures at 8 AM. UK data continues the Services PMI run after a half an hour break at 8:30. Euro Zone Retail Sales for June will be available at 9 AM. Sales were flat in May and this follows a slight contraction, which was posted in April. We then head over the Atlantic to North America, where it will be busy with publications at a half past noon GMT, including the high importance US employment report for July. Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 213 thousand in June, and the unemployment rate rose by two tenths of a percent to 4%. US Trade Balance for June will also be available at 12:30. Deficit continued narrowing down in May to 43.1 billion US Dollars. Canadian Trade Balance for June is the final publication out at a half past noon. Deficit expanded more than expected in May as it jumped by almost one billion Canadian Dollars. The high importance US ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI for July wraps up this calendar at 2 PM GMT. Economic activity in the non-manufacturing sector grew in June for the 101st consecutive month. Index edged higher to approach the 60% mark. These were the potential market movers scheduled for publication on this week’s final trading day.
