First, the Bank of England Governor Market Carney will testify on the financial stability report at a quarter past 9 AM and it’s a high importance event. Three more publications regarding the UK economy follow fifteen minutes later, including a potential Sterling mover, which is the inflation data for December. Annual inflation eased back in November as the pace of price growth slowed down from October’s level of 2.4 percent. UK House Price Index for November continues the 9:30 data run. Property prices were 2.7 percent up from a year ago in October, averaging at slightly more than 231 thousand pounds. The Producer Price report for December is the final UK publication out at 9:30. Input prices dropped by 2.3 percent in November, but output prices showed a slight increase. The publication of the US import prices for December continue the data run at 1:30 PM GMT. Import prices dropped by 1.6 percent in November and they are expected to drop once again in this report. US Housing Market Index for January is up next at 3 PM. The index plummeted to 56 in December, which is the lowest level since early 2015. The US Federal Reserve Beige Book will then be available at 7 PM GMT. UK Residential Markets Survey for December is scheduled for publication just shortly after midnight GMT. The overall survey balance slipped further into the negative territory in November, dropping to minus 11 percent. And last up is the Australian Home Loans report for November.
