It’s time for another edition of the Dukascopy Spike Controller, where we take a closer look at the spread levels for the 3 non-cross majors. Euro/Dollar’s daily average spread is point 34 pips and peak separation has been 2.2 pips. The pair dropped yesterday by a total of point 64 percent or 73 pips to hit the low of 1 1382. Spreads were slightly bumpy yesterday at 1:30 PM GMT during the US data run, but the max separation was just 2.2 pips. Next up is the Cable, which has a daily average spread of more than 1 pips. Maximum of 6.3 pips took place yesterday. Pound/Dollar surged from the low of 1 2669, gaining a massive 1.8 percent or 228 pips. Spreads peaked at 6.3 pips yesterday at 11 PM GMT and both of the sides separated by 3.8 pips today at 9:30 as the UK data was out. And last up is the Dollar/Yen, which has long term average and maximum spreads of point 35 and 2.2 pips respectively. The pair rose yesterday by point 41 percent to define the daily volatility of 44 pips. Spreads have been mostly calm, peaking at 2.2 pips yesterday at 11 PM GMT.
